AUSTRALIA
AAVA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - AAVA, the Australasian Association of Volunteer Administrators have come on board to support IVM Day and are providing an avenue through which organisations can extend the cheering section to beyond the VPMs themselves.
To recognise excellence in the profession, AAVA will announce an annual Australasian Administrator Award of Excellence on November 5 each year.
AAVA plans to hold this award as an annual event and believes that it is most appropriate to announce the winner on such a significant date for Volunteer Program Managers.

VPM HEALTHNET (Queensland) - VPM HealthNet is a network of dynamic Volunteer Managers who work in the health field in South East Queensland. Our Network is a strong supporter of International Volunteer Managers Day. To mark the day we are gathering together for a lunch on Thursday November 5th at the Chalk Hotel in Woolloongabba Brisbane.
We would like to invite any volunteer manager/coordinator in Queensland to join us or any VPM from around the globe who happens to be in Brisbane on that date! Lunch commences at 12 noon.
Come celebrate with us as only volunteer managers can!!
Lunch will be at your own expense but entertainment will be provided by the network if we can convince some of them to sing and dance!
Seriously though, this is an opportunity for our VPM community to get together on what we believe to be an important date in our calendar.

Volunteer MAD Event (Sunshine Coast)
This event is free for all managers and administrators of local community groups.
Volunteering Sunshine Coast is proud to be hosting our annual Volunteer MAD event. With International Volunteer Managers Day in November it is time to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our volunteer managers on the Sunshine Coast.
Our MAD event aims to provide managers of volunteers with some essential training on relevant issues, an opportunity to share ideas and hopefully have some fun too! Also at a time when community groups are experiencing an increased demand for services we want to give you some additional tools to help you cope and minimise stress levels in your work environment.
Many managers of community organisations work in isolation so an important part of the day is for you to meet and share your issues, frustrations and concerns with fellow managers of other community groups - so make sure you bring your business cards.
As managers of community groups you are always looking after someone else so take some time for yourself for some professional development and networking.
We look forward to welcoming you to our MAD event.
