Following her position in state government where she was involved in efforts during and after the tragedy that occurred on 9/11, she was with the US Homeland Security, Washington DC, where she was the liaison to 26 Citizen Corps national NGO affiliates.
Thoma believes that her experience as a volunteer resource manager was the most challenging, yet rewarding, position she has had in her career. A consultant, published author and member of many national and local boards and committees, she works diligently to promote the importance of the role of the Volunteer Resource Manager in the volunteer movement.
